But, it has improved when compared to previous Submarine Testing events. Is the underwater navigation situation perfect? No. It is in the lower-left of most people's screens. I've been using the "compass", which shows the orientation my submarine in relation to a target, to help me line-up on targets and navigate terrain. Sorry WG you finally made a version of subs I can at least control and sink things with but I'm not some unicum fighting other subs underwater is frustrating, and more often than not a complete waste of effort. I've hydroed them plenty of times only to have them dive & as soon as they pass 10km they go dark.every time.Įven underwater the lack of contrast the utter and complete lack of reference as to your facing and torpedo launch arc, (especially when you're zoomed in, trying to actually SEE an enemy sub,) and the wth?!? of pings missing, (even when an enemy sub is 'red' and presumably on or close to your level,) makes for much frustration. You can watch people use their hydro & not be able to see the sub then a friendly sub submerge & use it's sonar & the sub will be 3km from the ship using it's hydro. Never seen the actual write up on it but read somebody commenting on it in the forums & saw it for myself numerous times in testing both on PTS & now on the live server. That is what was originally said but at some point (even while it was still in testing on the PTS) they changed it to where hydro & radar only spot surface & periscope depth.
